OffshoreUp is looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our remote team as a contractor. In this role, you’ll manage a variety of financial tasks, helping our clients maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records. You’ll work with both US-based and international teams, making a global impact while enjoying the flexibility of working from anywhere.
Your Role:
As a Bookkeeper, you will take charge of ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Your responsibilities will include:
- Financial Management: Prepare and manage financial statements, ensuring they reflect the company’s financial position accurately.
- Daily Bookkeeping: Handle journal entries, data entry, and general ledger tasks using accounting software.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile bank and credit card statements, ensuring that all records align with actual transactions.
- Budget and Cash Flow: Monitor and report on budgets and cash flow to help clients make informed decisions.
- Client Reporting: Generate weekly, monthly, and custom financial reports to meet client needs and expectations.
- Chart of Accounts: Maintain and update the chart of accounts for accuracy and transparency.
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll tasks, ensuring employees and contractors are paid accurately and on time.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our team across time zones to deliver results efficiently and on schedule.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to clients, answering any questions about their finances and assisting them with inquiries.
Who You Are:
We’re looking for someone detail-oriented, collaborative, and proactive. Here’s what we’d love to see:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Communication: Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: You ensure accuracy in all financial transactions and reporting.
- Independence: Comfortable working autonomously in a remote setting while managing your workload efficiently.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills for working with both internal and external teams.
- Proactivity: Self-motivated and able to take initiative, ensuring tasks are completed on time.
- Availability: Able to work during U.S. business hours to ensure smooth communication with clients.
Experience & Skills:
- Accounting Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping, including month-end processes and journal entries.
- Task Management: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero), along with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis.
- Email & Remote Communication: Experience using tools like Microsoft Outlook or Google Workspace for communication, and comfortable using teleconference or remote work tools.
